The Water’s Experts training course officially started in Italy

After the signature of the formal agreement between Paese dell’Acqua and the school I.I.S.S. Lombardo-Radice in Bojano (Campobasso, Italy), the Water’s Experts training course officially started on 14th February 2023 in Italy.

The introductory lesson was held by the geologist Vincenzo Amato, researcher at GeoGisLab, Department of Biosciences and Territory, University of Molise. The 15 students involved in the training course will have the chance to enhance their scientific knowledge and acquire technical and professional skills in the field of water management. Moreover, the training course represents a valuable opportunity both for students and schools, being conceived as an interdisciplinary activity promoting professional development but also social participation among youth.

Specifically, the training course is structured into 4 different modules covering the following topics: river geomorphology, cartography and basics of GIS tools, river ecology, alteration of river environments and hints of river rehabilitation.
Each module includes both theoretical and practical activities, in order to let students put into practice the knowledge acquired during the theoretical part. The first outdoor activity with the school Lombardo-Radice will take place on 23rd February, in the framework of the first module dedicated to river geomorphology.

During this first day Enrica Bronzo and Alessandro Fanelli attended the training in quality of representatives of Paese dell’Acqua, leading organisation of the Water’s Experts project.

In the meanwhile, the three project partners have been working to finalise the training material and set up the preparatory activities for the courses in the respective countries (Macedonia, France and Portugal).
